Activities on cable structures and zip lines form the basis of Etgarim’s educational activities for special needs children in schools and kindergartens. The personal and group challenges of these activities have been found to strengthen the self-confidence of children with disabilities and improve their self-image. The activities improve social interaction and behavior, as well as raise the mental, physical and emotional functioning of the participating children.
The Ropes Course program combines challenging outdoor sports with group facilitation. The main goals of the program are to develop the participants’ belief in themselves, strengthen their sense of self control and teach them life and communication skills. The participanting children learn how to cooperate as a team, make group and individual decisions, while having fun in outdoor sporting activities.
These activities take place throughout the year for a total of 20 meetings.
