Etgarim’s kayak activity takes place weekly on Friday mornings at sunrise at the fishermen’s club in Hadera. The group is open to rowers of all ages, sectors, religions and gender. The common denominator: rowing and winning with what you have, leaving your restrictions behind on the beach.
During the rowing sessions the team experiences the sea in its various forms and changing scenery, some rowing independently on a single kayak, others rowing with their trainers using a tandem kayak.
During the rowing sessions, members of the group learn to overcome their limitations using their existing strengths. The group works on learning and improving capabilities, as well as enjoying kayak trips along the country’s beaches. An added bonus is the social bonding the activities facilitate.
A team of professional instructors and volunteers accompany and assist the group to enter their kayaks, and return safely, contributing to the empowering experience of overcoming their disabilities, while discovering their abilities and integrating into society and the environment.
