Untill the age of 29 Nati Gruberg, was a high-tech man who enjoyed sports as long as they were screened on TV. In 1999 he was seriously injured in an accident while riding a motorcycle. During two and a half years of rehabilitation Etgarim introduced Nati to hand cycling, which opened new page in his life. As Nati’s wife says: “The cycling makes Nati feels he’s a whole person. It has given him new goals in his life.” After two years of riding hand bikes Nati developed a special connection with hand cycling. The result: Nati became Israel Hand Cycling Champion and the “road to success” began. Having met the criteria, Nati started to train for the Special Olympic games in Beijing in 2008 . He trained nine times a week in all weather conditions, giving up work and spending less time with the family. This might have ended tragically, since Nati was hit by a police car in Beijing a day before the race. Fortunately, nothing stops Nati from dreaming and working. Today, he is ranked first in Israel and third in the world. Nati participated in the London 2012 Special Olympics, coming in seventh place, and he continues to represent Israel in international competitions.
